Predicting the risk of type 2 diabetes before it occurs can prevent serious health complications. The FINDRISC test was developed in Finland and has been globally validated as an effective screening method.

You can evaluate your own risk right now using our interactive FINDRISC test.

What does it measure?

The test consists of 8 simple questions related to lifestyle and medical history:

  1. Age
  2. Body Mass Index (BMI)
  3. Waist Circumference
  4. Physical Activity (at least 30 min daily)
  5. Dietary habits (vegetable/fruit consumption)
  6. Use of blood pressure medications
  7. History of high blood glucose
  8. Family history of diabetes

These questions predict the probability of developing type 2 diabetes within the next 10 years.

Understanding your score

Once you complete the questionnaire, you receive a score between 0 and 26. A higher score means a higher probability of developing the disease. For a detailed breakdown of the score tiers, see our guide on FINDRISC score meaning.
